The Family Fun Day and Sponsored Cycle was a great success with the community. There was a large number of free and paid activities to ensure good value entertainment was available throughout the day for everyone and the weather, with the exception of one or two very short showers, was fine and sunny throughout the day which helped.
The ICA made sure everyone had tea coffee, buns and cakes. The barbecue was fired up for the hungry. The athletics club made sure everyone young and old had events, sack race, egg & spoon race, family relay, and lots more for the children.
If it was good old fashioned fun it was there, splat the rat, pillow fight, name the bear, costume contest, dog show, horse shoe throwing, penalty shoot out, soccer target, wet sponge throwing, golf chipping, face painting, pony ride, bottle stall, steady hand, knock the coconut, blood pressure checking, table tennis and much more.
Along with having fun the day was to raise funds for The Curragh Hospice and Suncroft GFC and at the end of the day a cheque for €1,500 was presented to the Curragh Hospice
