Suncrofts ladies started their semi final against Rathangan with a high level of intensity and put their first point on the scoreboard in the first minute. The followed this up with a goal and a point in the third and forth minute to take a good early lead.
Rathangan fought back well and tested the Suncroft defence on a number of occasions over the next 7 to 8 minutes. The Suncroft defence stood up to the challenge and in the 12th minute Suncroft made a break up the field and after a high paced passing movement they got their second goal. The goal gave them an 8 point lead [2:02 (8) to 0:00 (0)] and it was a big blow to Rathangan after what was a strong period for them.
Suncrofts full panel of players contributed to the game.Suncrofts defence remained strong and at the end of the game they had held Rathangan scoreless. The midfield and forwards had combined well to build a final tally of 4:06.
In the final Suncroft were up against Raheens. This was the team that had built up a 7 point lead on the Suncroft girls in the qualifier games (which they managed to overturn) and a tough game was anticipated.

It was a well balanced contest in the first half. Suncroft defence were determined that no 7 point gap would be allowed this time around and they held Raheens to that single point in the half. The Suncroft forwards had penetrated the Raheens defence on a few occasions and had a 5 point lead at the break.
The second half followed the same pattern with super defending and the forwards making some good breaks. Again Suncrofts full panel of players contributed to the game and at the end Suncroft had built a 14 point winning margin. Final score Suncroft 3:07, Raheens 0:02.
