Suncroft News for week ending Thursday May 12

Congratulations to Kathleen and Christy Brennan from Ballyshannon who won the Club Lotto Jackpot at the weekend. The Jackpot was €1,900 and winning numbers were 5,12,15,20. The €25.00 winners included Trish Flood, Rose Martin, Ronnie Howe, Ger O’Connor, Anne Marie King. The Promoters prize went to Eamon Ryan Suncroft had a disappointing start to the Championship they were beaten by a very well organised Ballymore Eustace side. Ballymore Eustace are current Leinster Intermediate Club Champions and they proved to Strong for Suncroft in this First round clash. The Final score on the day was Ballymore Eustace 1-13 Suncroft 0-07 Eoin Lawless and Eoin Troy got called up to the U14 county panel. Best of luck lads . It is great to see Suncroft players representing their club at county level Suncroft U10 A Team competed in a blitz in Ballykelly on Saturday last with teams from Ballykelly, Monasterevin and Kilcullen. In the 1st game Suncroft were victorious over Ballykelly with a score line of 2-4 to 1-3. Scorers Stephen Rennick (2-1), Alex King (0-2) and Logan O'Rourke (0-1). In the 2nd game Suncroft defeated Monasterevin on a score line of 1-1 to 0-2. Scorers Dean Hanlon (1-0) and Jack McDermott (0-1). In the 3rd game against Kilcullen, Suncroft lost 3-1 to 1-3. Scorers Diarmuid Brannock (1-1), Stephen Rennick (0-1) and Senan Brannock (0-1). Overall it was a great performance from the Suncroft Team with great football played by Dylan King, Peter Rennick, Jack Dillon and Dylan Tyrell. Although short a couple of regulars we would like to thank the three 7 year olds and 8 year old who only for them we would not have been able to participate in this blitz.. Suncroft U10Bs were too strong for Eadestown on Tuesday night last Suncroft started off their scoring with a super point from Harry Kiely. Harry had great support in mid field from Jack Lawless who was excellent throughout the game. Tom Martin played a stormer in the backs with support from Sam Murphy, Killian Hanly and Hugh Doyle. Suncroft continued their scoring with another point from Harry Kiely, and a great goal from Ben Mcinerney. Suncroft finished at half time with a great score from Jack Lawless. Suncroft made a few changes at half time with the introduction of Brian Conway in the backs, Sam Prendergast and Conor Martin in the forwards. The scoring continued with a goal by a determined Sean Knight, and another point from Ben Mcinerney and a well deserved point from Tom Martin. Eadestown fought hard but brilliant gaol keeping from a dertermined Con Kehoe. This was a brilliant preformance by all of the Suncroft players with great passing and great team play. Suncroft finished off the match with two great points from Robbie Mallon. The U14's had a good win over Round Towers in a friendly on Monday night last. They start their league on Sunday morning at home against Kill at 11am
